What Is Accepted in a Longview Roll-Offs Dumpster

Household and General Junk

Furniture (sofas, chairs, tables, dressers), mattresses, clothing and textiles, household items, books, cardboard and paper, small appliances, rugs, and general clutter from closets, attics, and garages are all accepted.

Construction and Demolition Debris

Drywall, lumber and wood framing, plywood and OSB, concrete (in limited quantities), brick and block, asphalt shingles, roofing felt, metal flashing, tile and flooring, cabinets and countertops, windows, doors, and general C&D mixed debris.

Yard and Landscaping Debris

Tree limbs and brush, stumps (call first on large ones due to weight), sod and soil, leaves, grass clippings, mulch, old fencing (wood, chain link, and metal posts), and landscaping rocks in moderate amounts.

Appliances

Washers, dryers, dishwashers, stoves, water heaters, and most large appliances are accepted. Refrigerators, freezers, and air conditioning units contain refrigerant and must be properly evacuated first. Call before loading any appliance with refrigerant lines.

What Cannot Go in a Dumpster

Texas state law and landfill regulations prohibit certain materials in roll-off containers. Loading prohibited materials can result in the load being rejected at the landfill and additional disposal fees passed back to you.

Hazardous Household Materials

Paint (latex and oil-based), paint thinner, solvents, pesticides, herbicides, fertilizers, pool chemicals, propane tanks, fire extinguishers, and any aerosol container that is not empty.

Motor Fluids and Automotive Waste

Motor oil, transmission fluid, brake fluid, antifreeze, and gasoline cannot go in a roll-off. Vehicle batteries (lead-acid) are also prohibited. The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality regulates used motor oil disposal under TCEQ rules separate from solid waste.

Tires

Passenger and commercial vehicle tires are not accepted. Used tire disposal in Texas is governed by separate regulations. Many auto parts stores and tire shops accept used tires.

Asbestos-Containing Materials

Pipe insulation, ceiling tiles, floor tiles, and roofing materials from pre-1980 construction may contain asbestos. These require testing and special disposal under TCEQ Chapter 330. Do not load suspected asbestos materials without testing first.

Electronics (E-Waste)

TVs, computer monitors, laptops, printers, and other electronics should not go in a standard roll-off. Many communities in East Texas hold periodic e-waste collection events through the Gregg County solid waste program.
